About
North Star Basketball Training’s mission is to teach student-athletes the necessary skills of motivation, enthusiasm, and a positive work ethic. We focus on shooting, ball handling, defensive skills, and strength and conditioning. Our staff aims to give players who have the desire to succeed the necessary skills to take their game to the next level.
North Star's founder, Tony Mataragas, has been around the game for 35 years as both a player and a coach. He played basketball for championship-winning teams at Salem High School and at Salem State University, as well as professionally in Europe for a brief time. He has coached at the youth level for high school varsity, recreational, travel, and AAU teams. Tony brings immense knowledge and love for the game and is passionate about passing that on to future players.
FALL 2024 Registration is Now Open!
The days / times are as follows:
Girls Ages 8-10 will be on Mondays from 6:40pm - 7:40pm
Boys Ages 8-10 will be on Mondays from 5:30pm - 6:30pm
Girls Ages 11-13 will be on Tuesdays from 6:20pm - 7:20pm
Boys Ages 11-13 will be on Tuesdays from 5:15pm - 6:15pm
Players Ages 6-7 will be on Thursdays from 5:15pm - 6:15pm
Trainings will be held at St. Vasilios Athletic Center, 5 Paleologos Street, Peabody, MA.
